Welcome to our website! Our office is responsible for the organization and administration of professional laboratory experiences relating to the Teacher Education Program at Eastern Kentucky University.

The Office of Professional Laboratory Experiences receives and evaluates all applicants for student teaching, determines the appropriate disposition of the application, places student teachers in the schools, and provides continuous assessment of the applicant's teaching experiences during the professional semester.

We recognize that cultural diversity is a fact of American life and teachers function in a pluralistic cultural environment. Experience in multi-cultural settings provides valuable enrichment for the proper development of effective teachers.

Our website is useful for student teachers, students completing field assignments prior to student teaching, cooperating teachers who supervise student teachers, and university supervisors of student teachers. On our website, you will find documents that assist the student teaching process and the pre-student teaching field experiences.
