Eligibility Requirements:
Have a master's degree in counseling or related field
Meet
five of the 8 competency areas described by CACREP
Have
completed a clinical practicum during your master's degree
Have
5 years of significant professional counseling experience
Admission Requirements:
Dispositions:Candidate will exhibit ability to:
Identify
with a diverse student population
Perceive that all children are able to learn and grow
Place the welfare of children above other elements in educational
systems
Take
a larger view of education to prepare a productive and well-adjusted
citizenry
Application
Process FOR the

Interview with the Alternative
Certification Specialist
Apply for Graduate
School
Complete the Counseling
Department admission
packet
Referred to the Department
Alternative Program Certification Committee for review and recommendation
for program admission
Recommended to the College
Alternative Program Certification Committee for approval for admission
to the program
Completing all coursework
assigned by the Department Alternative Program Certification Committee
Completing internship
while employed by a school district
