MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATION WITH G/T ENDORSEMENT

The following option is available to educators who have certification at the elementary, middle school, secondary, or P-12 level.  The certification/endorsement to which it leads is for grades P-12. In addition to the requirements of the Graduate School and certification at one of the levels previously listed, clear admission  to the program requires evidence of achieving one of the following: 

(1)  A minimum total GRE score of 700 with minimum verbal and quantitative subtest scores of 300. 

(2) A score of 388 on the Miller's Analogies Test.

(3) A satisfactory score on the PRAXIS II (Student inquiries regarding PRAXIS scores for graduate admission should send an email to coeadvising@eku.edu ).

MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATION WITH OPTION IN
GIFTED and TALENTED EDUCATION

This program meets Gifted and Talented certification guidelines and is designed to prepare teachers to serve as gifted/talented specialists.  

Professional Education Core:  15 hours
    One course from each list: 6 hours 
         ELE 810, EMG 810, ESE 863 
         EME 873, ELE 871, EMG 806, ESE 774    
    EPY 839  3 hours 
    EMS 855  3 hours
    EPY 869   3 hours     
Gifted/Talented: 9 hours
     EMS 856  3 hours 
     EMS 857  3 hours 
     EME 858  3 hours    
Electives    6 hours
     Selected to support background in Gifted/Talented Education with advisor approval. 

Minimum program total hours: 30
