First Semester – Spring or Summer

 

● EGC 820 – Professional Studies I: Teachers, Schools, and Society (3 hours)

 

● EGC 830 – Professional Studies II: Learners, Teachers, and Curricula (3 hours)

 

● ELE 807 – Teaching Art P – 8 (Graduate equivalent of EME 439/ELE 361) (3 hours)

 

 

Second Semester - Fall

 

● ESE 740 – Art Teaching Methods – offered only in the fall semester

 

● ART 760 – Materials Inquiry in Art Education – offered only in the fall semester

 

Provisionally certified students (teaching full-time) take only these courses.

Full- time graduate students may register for additional courses.

 

Third Semester - Spring

 

● EGC 846 – M.A.T Practicum (Student Teaching – 8 hours)

 

● EGC 847 – Secondary M.A.T. Seminar (1 hour)

 

Provisionally Certified and full- time graduate students take ONLY these courses.

 

Fourth Semester – Summer

 

● EGC 889 – M.A.T. Capstone Seminar (3 hours)

 

Additional required courses may be taken as they fit into schedule.

 

● SED 800 – Exceptional Learners in the Regular Classroom (3 hours)

 

● ESE  774 – Teaching Reading in the Secondary School (3 hours)

   OR

   EMG 806 – Reading Instruction in the Middle School

 

● 4 Graduate courses in the content area of certification (12 hours) one of which must be
ART 760 – Materials Inquiry in Art Education (offered ONLY in Fall semester)

 

Program total:
