Elementary M.A.T. Courses

Approved Undergraduate Majors for Elem. M.A.T. applicants

Candidates admitted to the program must pass math and computer skills competency examinations during the first semester of enrollment.

 

Application deadline:

April 15, 2007 for admission in Summer 2007 (May)

1. Complete all the requirements outlined by the Graduate School. 

2. Complete and submit the following in order to be considered for 
admission to the M.A.T. program.

  • Transcripts indicating a bachelor's degree and any additional course 
    work from an accredited institution with a overall GPA of 3.00 
    OR
    a GPA of 3.00 in the last 60 hours of coursework 
    OR
    A Master's Degree
  • GRE scores of 350 verbal and 350 quantitative
    OR
    a score of 388 on the Miller Analogies Test 


    NOTE -Applicants who took the GRE before October 1, 2002  
    should discuss GRE requirements with Kim Alexander-

  • A professional resume
  • A professional autobiography (2-4 pages)
  • Three letters of reference documenting relevant life/work/educational 
    experience
  • Two "Dispositions" written assignments 
    Assignment #1 

    Assignment #2
  • An interview with the M.A.T. committee (after all of the materials listed
    above have been submitted)

    NOTE: After admission to the program, but prior to graduation,  candidates will be required to pass the PRAXIS II "Principles of Learning and Teaching" exam and the"Elementary Education: Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment" exam.
