The Graduate CARES report is an advising and registration tool. It outlines program requirements, lists in progess courses and completed hours for the major and other requirements. Graduate CARES provides an electronic academic roadmap for the student and advisor and it will replace the hard copy planned programs previously prepared at the department level.
Graduate CARES reports (planned program) are available real time by accessing EKU Direct (www.education.eku.edu) and should be reviewed by the advisor and the student each semester. Students will verify with their advisor that they understand program requirements as stated on the electronic planned program.
The following programs are available at this time with others coming soon:
MA Human Services: Community Agencies
MA Human Services: Student Personnel Services in Higher Education
MA Mental Health Counseling
MAEd Elementary Education: Elementary
MAEd Elementary Education: Gifted
MAEd Elementary Education: Middle Grade
MAEd Elementary Education: Reading/Writing
MAEd Library Science
Changes in the planned program initiated on the "Application for a Change in Planned Program" form, must include a recommendation for change by the advisor, and be approved by the department chair and others as determined by the Dean of COE or Graduate School. Changes discussed verbally by phone or otherwise will not be honored unless the planned curriculum is officially altered to reflect such approval.
It is the student's responsibility to register for the proper courses so that all requirements are satisfied at the time of expected graduation or program completion. Completion of all course work on the student's planned curriculum is required for graduation and/or program completion.
Questions regarding your graduate planned program may be directed to your respective advisor.
